I don’t know about you guys but I am absolutely loving this heatwave we’re having at the moment! My mood is definitely dependant on the weather and in the mornings recently I’ve been waking up super happy and raring to go, so I really hope the weather doesn’t change any time soon. I always think the changing of the seasons is a great excuse to treat myself to some new wardrobe pieces and shopping for summer clothes never fails to get me excited! Wanting to make the most of this gorgeous weather, me and Harry recently took a trip to Shugborough Estate in Staffordshire to explore the breathtakingly grand mansion and stunning gardens. It was the perfect day to wear one of my new favourite pieces and I have fallen in love with this day time summer outfit so much that I just had to write about it.
The dress is the Honeybalme printed tie shoulder dress from Jack Wills. Patterned dresses are always perfect for summer, but what makes this different is that it’s made of denim. I usually stick to light, floaty materials in the hot weather, but the style and material of this can pull off both a smart and casual look I just had to add it to the collection. It’s quite fitting to the body which I love (anything that helps me look slimmer is a yes from me!) and the tie shoulder detail is a super cute touch. Button-down items are really popular this summer and it’s an extra detail that works really well with this dress. Not only is the Honeybalme dress perfect to wear on its own, but it also looks amazing layered with a plain short sleeved top underneath – you’ve basically got two outfits in one! It’s a beautifully flattering summer dress and I even got a compliment from a lovely woman when I wore it, which was so kind of her and actually made my day. It’s recently been added to the JW summer sale now priced at £40 (always sad when you paid full price not long ago *wipes tear*) so now is the perfect time to get your hands on one!
This dress is perfectly paired with my fave red cross body bag. I’m really loving adding a pop of colour to my summer outfits at the moment and this bag does just the job. It’s the perfect small day bag size and has two different compartments which is so handy and practical – who says practical can’t look good?! This red beauty is also from Jack Wills, but was purchased a few months ago now so is no longer available to buy. I’m linking a similar one here. My trusty navy Converse finishes this outfit off, keeping it a casual daytime look and is a great choice when doing a lot of waking around an estate. I feel like Converse are completely timeless and look good with any outfit – they always have and always will be my number one choice of trainer. The sunglasses are from New Look and are a recent purchase. I am loving the round retro style sunglasses at the moment and I am definitely wanting to treat myself to the round metal Ray Bans, but me being me (wanting to save any pennies where I can) I’ve decided to wait a few weeks until duty free at the airport! Although I’m not the biggest fan of the slightly pinky tone to the lenses, these New Look sunnies are a great dupe until then.
Have you found a new favourite dress this season that you love wearing? Leave a comment and let me know as I’m always on the look out for more to add to the collection!
