Since the evenings have started getting cooler, I’m finding myself choosing a warm, cozy bath over a usual quick, boring shower a lot more often. Especially after a busy day at work or just before I go to bed, when it’s dark and chilly outside but you’re toasty and relaxed in the tub. I’m one of those people who can never just have a normal bath with standard bubble baths though – if I’m not using a LUSH bubble bar, bath melt or bomb, it’ll be some other divine smelling product that does some sort of goodness to my skin.
I first saw the Laura Mercier Honey Bath range a few years ago now, mentioned on either a blog post or a YouTube video (I can’t remember which, it was that long ago) and wanted to try one of them out for myself since. It’s basically a bubble bath, but is so much more than just a bubble bath. I was definitely intrigued and wanted to get my hands on it, but this brand is one of the more luxe brands that you can’t get in usual high street and town centre shops. You can always buy online, however me being me (really picky when choosing new products to try) always prefer buying from an actual store where I can see, test or smell every product IRL. So I was ecstatic when I first found out that Space NK was opening up a store in Stamford! You can purchase all the products from a load of my favourite luxe brands from there, and although I’ve been so happy since its opened, my bank account has most definitely not been. But anyway, I took a trip to the Stamford Space NK store ready to treat myself and a lovely lady was more than happy to help me with my tough decision… so many amazing products, so little time!
I thought it was about time I tried the Laura Mercier Honey Bath, and knowing it comes with an adorable wooden honey stick as the applicator, I was already sold. The Honey Baths come in a few different varieties, all with their own delicious scent. Each one smells divine however I personally find that Ambre Vanille (the one I purchased) is not as sickly sweet as the others. I do love sweet smelling bath products, but the other ones were a little too sweet for me. As you can probably guess by the name, vanilla bean is one of the main scents creating the unique Ambre Vanille essence, along with amber, tangerine and milk flower. This mixture creates an amazing, spa like aroma.
When I first tried out this product I was pleasantly surprised as it really is like having a spa treatment at the comfort of your own home. The fragrance is described as one that ‘warms and awakens the senses’ which I totally agree with! The water turns super soft and even after one use it’s clear to see why it’s such a popular bath product. As a little bonus, this lush smell stays on the skin for literally hours after you’ve bathed, as well as keeping the skin soft and moisturised – so it really does feel like you’ve just had a trip to the spa! At £33 it is quite a pricey item, so it’s something I use as a little treat every now and then when I’m feeling a good pamper rather than using it all the time. However I personally think it’s so worth the money if you want to treat yourself and enjoy a luxe, cosy, delicious smelling bath. I also think it’s a fab present idea for a loved one who also enjoys pampering themselves – the jar and honey stick applicator are enough to love this product before even opening it!
Have you tried any of the Laura Mercier bath products? Let me know your favourite one!
